Managing Your Deal Timeline

The Timeline feature in Supra Transaction Management helps you track key dates and deadlines for a deal, ensuring all parties stay aligned. With both templated and customizable options, you can manage milestones efficiently and control visibility for your team and clients. This guide explains how to build and customize a deal timeline.

Overview

The Timeline feature allows you to:

  • Automatically populate key dates from a Purchase Contract.
  • Add custom milestones and tasks to keep everyone on track.
  • Control visibility to share deadlines with your team, clients, or the other side of the deal.

Using the Templated Timeline

The Templated Timeline auto-fills dates and deadlines when you upload a Purchase Contract.

Steps

  1. Upload a Purchase Contract in the deal.
  2. On the Form Settings page of the Purchase Contract, enter key dates (e.g., closing date, inspection deadline).
  3. Save the form. The timeline will automatically populate with these dates.

Tip: Review the auto-filled dates to ensure accuracy.

Customizing Your Timeline

Add custom milestones to track tasks like home staging or document submissions.

Step 1: Add a New Milestone

  1. On the Deal Details page, locate the Timeline section.
  2. Click the + icon in the top-left corner of the timeline.

Step 2: Complete the Milestone Fields

  1. Enter the milestone Title (e.g., "Home Staging").
  2. (Optional) Add a Summary (e.g., the name of the staging company).
  3. Provide a Description with specific instructions or details.
  4. Select the Completion Date for the milestone.

Step 3: Set Visibility

  1. In the Visibility Settings, choose who can see the milestone:
    • Your Team and Clients: Restrict to your side of the deal.
    • Other Side: Share with the opposing team (e.g., buyer or seller side).
  2. Confirm your selection.

Step 4: Save the Milestone

  1. Click Save to add the milestone to the timeline.

Tips

  • Use clear, descriptive titles for milestones to avoid confusion.
  • Set realistic deadlines and double-check dates to keep the deal on track.
  • Limit visibility for sensitive tasks to maintain privacy.

Troubleshooting

  • Timeline not updating? Ensure the Purchase Contract is saved with the correct dates in Form Settings.
  • Milestone not visible? Check the Visibility Settings to confirm the milestone is shared with the intended parties.
  • Cannot add a milestone? Verify you have sufficient permissions (e.g., Agent or Transaction Coordinator role) and on Smart Transactions Plan.
